When I was contacted by Auden and Company to do a re-branding shoot for Holmes Applesauce, I was immediately interested. I loved learning about the history of this company and the passion behind the product.. The founder and CEO, Ethan Holmes, is 26 and not only an entrepreneur but an educator. He’s often found in schools inspiring young people to take risks. He inspires me and this was a project I could easily get behind.
Ethan needed cohesive content for his website and instagram account and there was a need for both product photography and lifestyle photos. All of the product photography was done in my home with my two boys (much to their joy—they love applesauce!). We wanted to create a feel of gathering around an old table, the crispness of fall, smelling fresh granola “digging in” on the Holmes goodness at the kitchen counter.
The two lifestyle portions of the shoot took place at an A-frame in Michigan and at Patterson’s fruit farm, where Ethan sources his apples and cider.
I think these images drastically improved Ethan’s social media presence. Not only did the three portions of the shoot tie in together, they brought a feel to the already set-in-place values of the company.
